The Visvodaya Jawahar Bharati educational institutions celebrated their diamond jubilee on successful completion of 60 years here on Sunday. Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development, Daggubati Purandeswari, former Vice-chancellor of Vikrama Simhapuri University, R Visweswara Rao, and Kavali MLA B Mastan Rao were the chief guests at the function presided over by HMTV and The Hans India Chief Editor K Ramachandra Murthy.
Purandeswari was presented with the membership of Visvodaya institutions and felicitated on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, she said it was a great honour for her to be felicitated by the same institution which had honoured her father N T Rama Rao earlier. She exhorted the students to excel in their studies and use every opportunity to sharpen their skills and enhance their knowledge and strive to bring glory to the country. She desired that India transformed itself into a country of opportunities for all.
Ramachandra Murthy lauded the pioneering role played by Dodla Ramachandra Reddy who founded Jawahar Bharati College which produced several great intellectuals in the mould of ideals and aspirations of Jawahar Lal Nehru.
He lauded the decision of the institution to felicitate Purandeswari who was treading in the footsteps of her father. He advised the parents not to put too much pressure on their children for high scores and said the students should be enlightened on the basis of the three language formula.
